OpenAI has added optional contact syncing to ChatGpt to help users "find friends," updating it's privacy policy to allow phone number processing when others upload contacts. users who sync can follow matched accounts and receive notifications. although OpenAI says it stores hashed phone numbers, not names or emails, your phone number can still reach their database via any contact who chooses to sync their list ( even if you oot out )
