Waymo said its sixth-generation robotaxi system is ready for passenger trips, starting with employees in San Francisco and Los Angeles before public rollout. Designed for mult-vehicle platforms, including zeckr RT and Hyundai lonig 5, it uses 16 high-resolution cameras, LiDAR, radar, and audio sensors while lowering cost for high-volume production. After 200 million test miles, waymo is targeting 20 new cities in 2026 and broader scaling globally
